PRE-REQS: Take MST-1110 This section meets in the Museum.
This course serves as a broad introduction to the museum world including the historical origins, development, philosophy, purposes and administrative structure of the various types of museums. Students will investigate the variety of jobs and responsibilities that museum professionals hold such as collections management, conservation, exhibition development, research and education. Students will examine the ethical, moral and legal obligations of museums through lectures, discussions, student presentations, and guest speakers.
